Summary: This book contains a selection of the poems of Jigar Muradabadi one of the most celebrated ghazal poets of the Urdu language. Jigar was listed as the greatest exponent of this form, and dominated poetry recitals from 1940 to 1960. He was given the title of Padma Bhushan by the Government of India, and received the Sahitya Academy Award in 1955 for his poetry. Jigar was a poet whose lyrical abandon was proverbial and whose imitators exceeded the number of imitators of other poets. His style of writing, style of reciting, even his outfit were copied, and some of his pupils did in fact become renowned poets in their time Jigar was a trend setter, and a poet who was genuinely loved. This collection is to be released on the occasion of Jigar's 50th Death Anniversary.
